The third and final presentation of the sixth annual Panyard Sensations Steelband Concerts took place at the bpTT Renegades Steel Orchestra Panyard, Upper Charlotte Street, Port of Spain, on Friday 23rd March, 2007.

The show started a bit late because of generator problems, but about thirty-five minutes after the scheduled start time the problems were resolved with apologies from Terry Joseph and Secretary of Pan Trinbago, Richard Forteau.

Immediately after the formalities, the show started with a short display of Trinidad and Tobago's culture that showcased J'ouvert mas by the Paramin Blue Devils, Moko Jumbies, Kiddies Carnival mas courtesy Roslind Gabriel's 2007 Carnival presentation, "Many Faces, One Nation" and a Chutney performance by the United Tassa Group. Although those in attendance, especially the tourists, were in awe by the display, one can tell they were extremely anxious to hear the pan music.

The Steelpan followed with excellent music from bpTT Renegades Steel Orchestra. The sweet music filled the air with tunes such as 'Feel So Good', 'Robin Hood', 'Mr. Magic', 'Woman By My Side', 'Pint a Wine'. The Renegades Steel Orchestra players were full of energy and their renditions brought the entire yard of patrons to their feet.

Guest performing that night was the incredibly talented saxophonist, Francis Prime, who performed on stage with Renegades Steel Orchestra. His performance was truly magnificent and it was well received by the audience. Also performing was renowned Calypsonian Willard 'Relator' Harris who was accompanied by his drummer, 'Lion'. 'Relator' dedicated his performance to the late Fitzgerald 'Mighty Terror' Henry, singing a medley of his hits including 'Pan Talent', 'Calalloo Tonic' and the ever-popular 'Chinese Children'.

Renegades performed once more and patrons continued dancing to the infectious music of the bpTT Renegades. They performed ballads such as 'All Night Long', 'No Woman, No Cry', Akon's 'Nobody' and an infectious medley of Aldwyn Roberts aka Lord Kitchener's Calypsos. Audience members truly enjoyed themselves and by the look on their faces, had really placed the late start of the event out of their minds.

The producer, Terry Joseph and sponsors, Tourism Development Company Ltd. in collaboration with Pan Trinbago, should be commended for a wonderful series of pan. Although there were some hiccups, the overall series was a success.

Organizers and the public should take note that these shows were well-attended which attests to the fact that there is a market for well-organized pan concerts in Trinidad and Tobago.
