We are at the Queens Park Savannah where the Panorama Semi-finals is taking place. Many of the bands are already here and anxiously awaiting their turn to perform on stage. We are interviewing some of the movers and shakers within these bands to share a general idea of what goes on behind the scenes. We are here with Mr. Selwyn 'Parry' Paul, Captain and Principal of Parry's Pan School.

TRINBAGOPAN: Mr. Paul, how long have you been running this school?

PARRY: The school started in 1991 and we went to our first Panorama in 1995.

TRINBAGOPAN: How has the experience been for you having this Pan School?

PARRY: It is a trying experience when you are not sponsored and you have to look for money to help the kids. The kids really need the help. You cannot turn your back on them because they are crying out for the help. I would try my best to get the help for them.

TRINBAGOPAN: Do you all have any plans after Panorama?

PARRY: We do not rest. We have Festival coming up and we are making some arrangements to travel. We go to places like Malaysia, Singapore and so on.

TRINBAGOPAN: Who did the arrangement for the band?

PARRY: I did the arrangement.

TRINBAGOPAN: What is your tune of choice?

PARRY: Our tune of choice is 'Doing It For Kitch' by Natalie Yorke.

TRINBAGOPAN: Do you have any final words?

PARRY: Well, I am seeing a trend here with the players and them. We have to stop it a little bit because it is going to mash up the Steelband. The trend is that no one seems to be loyal to bands anymore. They play for nineteen and twenty bands and that is not good. It is not healthy for the Steelband. I am trying with my kids to be members of Parry's Pan School and nothing else (not even for a Single Pan Band). They belong to my band and that is it.

TRINBAGOPAN: Thank you sir.
