We are at the Queens Park Savannah where the Panorama Semi-finals is taking place. Many of the bands are already here and anxiously awaiting their turn to perform on stage. We are interviewing some of the movers and shakers within these bands to share a general idea of what goes on behind the scenes. Our first interviewee is Mr. Claude Byron, Captain of Panosonic Connection.

TRINBAGOPAN: Can you give us a brief history about the band?

CLAUDE: Well, the band has a long history. We started the band in 1978. We made two National Finals and two National Semi-finals. We are trying again this year.

TRINBAGOPAN: What plans do you all have for the band after Panorama 2006?

CLAUDE: We have a regular stage side and we are one of the bands in South that play out the most than other stage sides. Up to the last Sunday when they had the 50th Anniversary, we performed there. We are constantly playing out, they always come to us to perform.

TRINBAGOPAN: I noticed the band has a lot of young people. What is it like working with them?

CLAUDE: We have a tutor, who happens to be the arranger for the band. He coaches the young members so that they can develop their musical skills. They learn the music and how to read sheets, blend notes and so on.

TRINBAGOPAN: What is your tune of choice and who arranged it?

CLAUDE: The song is "Ethel" by Super Blue, and the arranger is Sean 'Junior' Hinds.

TRINBAGOPAN: Do you have any final words?

CLAUDE: Yes, we hope to win.

TRINBAGOPAN: Thank you Mr. Byron.
