75 receive certificates in pan studies

The inventive instict among the pan fraternity is alive and buzzing on the evidence of the new pan inventions recently displayed at the graduation ceremony of the National Pan Technology Programme hosted by he Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs at Queen's Hall, St Ann's.
Seventy-five participants representing the four regions of Pan Trinbago, were each presented with certificates for completion of a year of studies in pan construction and pan tuning under the tutelage of several experts in the various fields of endeavours concerning the steelpan - including its history and development and rudiments of arranging.
A major highlight of the evening was, however, a tribute to pioneering founders of the steelband fraternity Bertie Marshall and Anthony Williams. They were the honourees of this year's graduation ceremony and were treated to a limousine ride to Queen's Hall and red carpet treatment upon their arrival.
