when will Pan Trinbago mention Percy Thomas, Boots, Theo Stevens, Red Army, Marabuntas, Rising Sun, The Dead End Kids, and sooo many others who made huge contributions and when will the conversation start that will correct the false claim that Spree invented pan. It was none other than Ellie Mannette. He invented the musically playable pan (ping pong) that gave rise to the steel orchestra. By the way the "ping pong" was held in one hand and played with 1 stick and that led to Ellie's famous Tenor from the 45 gallon drum plus the rubbered stick, the neck strap and the first multi pan (double guitar) and ofcourse the tripple cello (diminished chord pan) and soo much more. Invaders certainly was the FIRST (real) steelband coming out of Oval Boys.
