PHASE II PAN GROOVE CONCERT
Posted By: News
Date: Monday, 18 March 2002, at 3:53 a.m.
Persuaded by fans of the band, Petrotrin Phase II Pan Groove musical director, Len "Boogsie" Sharpe has announced that following Tuesday night’s visit by judges of the Pan in the 21st Century contest, his orchestra will stage a concert.
Phase II Pan Groove is scheduled to perform for the judges at 8.30 pm on 19 March 2002. "From that time, we will be going straight into our full 2002 repertoire, particularly for those people who follow the band’s work but did not get to hear all our tunes at Carnival time," Sharpe said Saturday.
Apart from Sharpe’s composition "Do What You Want", Phase II amassed a formidable repertoire during Carnival.
For the Pan in the 21st Century competition, the band will do (yet another revised arrangement of) "Theme from Exodus". Band fans will also get to hear a number of other songs, including Andre Tanker’s "Ben Lion", Merchant’s "Taxi Talk", "Amazing Grace" and an astonishingly musical rendition of Iwer George’s "Gimme a Bligh".
