Friday, December 2nd 2005If lime was an orange Clive Bradley would have sucked both halves dry, hung them on either ear and grinned. Ah never see a man so. In fact I haven't seen him for a while, months even, and haven't talked to him for a while also, couple years even, which is surprising given that we have been friends for years, children of the 60s that we both were.
Those were years of wonderfully wretched excess when many of the world's young thought we were going to change it, ambitious dreams fuelled by music, of course, but also by a plethora of drugs, the last in the line coming much later in life, cocaine literally causing many to crash although Clive, survivor that he was, managed to fall short of his three score and ten by a single year, so there can't be much cause for complaint either from him or from those of us whose journey was made merrier because of him.
