Prime Minister Patrick Manning put in an appearance at the 3rd annual Roaring Lion Pan On The Move Competition on Coffee Street, San Fernando on Carnival Monday night.
PM Manning was just one of many high profile people who appeared on "The Coffee" at Skiffle Bunch Pan yard for the competition, also showing up were San Fernando Mayor Gerard Ferreira, RC priest Fr Clyde Harvey and Dianne Seukeran.
The competition required steel orchestras to play a song from the repertoire of the Roaring Lion. The event ran smoothly until Fonclaire, appearing in position number six, played six songs in front of the judges, none concerning the competition.
When organiser Llama de Leon spoke to arranger/leader of Fonclaire Darren Sheppard, he became very annoyed.
This was the only sore spot on the competition, which provided entertainment for thousands of people on Coffee Street, but it is an on going feud between Fonclaire and Skiffle Bunch which might just end the fun for the masses.
DJ Crosby Sounds also provided music free of charge for the back in times segment of the night.
